Wagoner County Man takes a Plea Deal for Second Degree Arson

Wagoner, OK - District Attorney, Jack Thorp announced, on October 24, 2017, Buddy Wilkinson, 53, of Wagoner, took a plea deal and pled guilty to second degree Arson and was sentenced to five (5) years under the custody and control of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

On July 31, 2016, Wilkinson poured gasoline as an enhancer on a pile of brush, lit it and walked away allowing it to burn only 2 to 3 feet away from the victim’s camper. The fire was able to be put out, but the victim’s camper, and another neighbor’s pool and fence were destroyed in the fire.

Thorp stated “What the defendant did was unacceptable. He did accept responsibility for his actions, and the victims were pleased with the results that our staff was able to achieve.”
