Jury Convicts Adair Man In 2014 Attack

Stilwell, Oklahoma. Brian Kuester, District Attorney for the 27th Prosecutorial District of Oklahoma, announced that David Len Tush, age 38, of Watts, OK, was found guilty by jury Thursday January 22, 2015, in Adair County Felony  Case No. CF-2014-64 of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon After a Prior Felony.  The jury recommended a sentence of 43 years.  Tush was charged on April 1, 2014 for beating Amanda Torix with a wooden pole and a t-ball bat on her head and body on 03/27/2014-03/30/2014. Additionally, said defendant entered a plea of guilty to a count of Possession of Firearm after Former Felony Conviction with a plea agreement for the maximum of 10 years in prison.  The case was investigated by Westville Police Department, OSBI, and District 27 Drug Task force.  Assistant District Attorney Joshua C. King prosecuted the case.  Sentencing will take place on March 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
