Located in northeastern Oklahoma, Adair County shares a border with the state of Arkansas on the east, and Cherokee County, Oklahoma on the west. Major highways through the county include U.S. Highways 59 and 62, State Highways 51 and 100.

Major cities in Adair County include the county seat and largest town of Stilwell, and the towns of Watts and Westville. The latest U.S. Census estimates Adair County’s population at 22,286.

The District 27 office of the District Attorney serves the people of Adair County from the courthouse in Stilwell.

Valeria Luster is the Supervising Assistant District Attorney for Adair County. She joined the District 27 staff in 2015, moving to a full-time position in 2017.

Luster prosecutes cases ranging from sexual abuse, to drugs, to burglaries, to juvenile deprived cases. Luster’s passion is protecting children, so she thrives on prosecuting crimes against children. She’s also energized by prosecuting domestic violence/sexual assault crimes and violent crimes.

“I feel that working on these cases allows me to help someone through one of the most excruciatingly painful times of their life,” said Luster, “and it means the world to me that I can help those individuals work through that pain and, hopefully, give them some peace of mind and soul.”

Photo of Assistant District Attorney Andy WilliamsAssistant District Attorney Andy Williams has served the district since October 2017, bringing invaluable experience from a 40-year career in criminal law.

Williams served 27 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Department of Justice in Plano, Texas, and five years as a special judge for the district court in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Prior to his judgeship, Williams served more than three years as an ADA for District 21 in Norman. He’s also served as an ADA in Duncan and Lawton.
Williams has experience in virtually all sides of the law, having also served clients in criminal defense.

Assistant District Attorney Jordan Pace prosecutes both felony and misdemeanor cases in Adair County, and assists with civil issues throughout the district. Pace is developing a Business and Merchant Service Program for all four counties of the district, which will provide tailored support and services to businesses that become victims of crimes. Once the program is in place, Pace will serve as the point of contact, giving businesses personalized interaction with the District Attorney’s office, and broadening and improving our efforts to protect the local economy.
A native of Sallisaw, Pace obtained his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law.

Leanne K. Sloan serves the district as an assistant district attorney in both Sequoyah and Adair Counties, specializing in Child Support Services.

Sloan assists families in all aspects of child support enforcement, managing the day-to-day business of the child support office and its five employees.  She reviews and negotiates the terms of the annual state child support contract, oversees state and federal child support performance measures for the district’s offices, and manages state and federal audits for the office (including annual IRS audits).
